Patriarch Bartholomew Looks Forward With Joy to Meeting Pope in May

The Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I, has said the 50th anniversary this year of Pope Paul VI’s meeting in Jerusalem with Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras is a “tremendous opportunity” to deepen Catholic-Orthodox ties. Patriarch Bartholomew also expressed his joy that he and Pope Francis will be marking the anniversary by meeting in Jerusalem at the end of May.
