Israelis Move to Have One Chief Rabbi

Israel’s cabinet has approved a private members bill that would end the existence of two Chief Rabbis. The decision, taken on Nov. 18th, is not expected to bring the bill into law in its current form and it needs to undergo several readings before it has a chance of success, but the proposal is thought to have widespread support.
