Copts Oppose Revising Previous Islamist Constitution, Favour a New One
The Coptic Orthodox Church is supportive of Egypt’s new regime but has suggested changes to a constitution currently be drafted by the new government. Their reservations come at a time of increased attacks on Copts since the previous Islamist regime was toppled on June 30th. Pope Tawadros has made no secret of his support for the new army-backed regime.
