A whole village is in the streets to celebrate and say “thank you” to the Sisters of Nazareth, present in Shefar’am now for 150 years. It’s a Jubilee that is rightfully celebrated in style, with the presence of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, welcomed by the civil and religious authorities of this town that counted 80% of Christians a century and a half ago, when the sisters arrived, but who today are only 35% of a total population of 35 000 inhabitants, with a Muslim majority and a Druze component.
