Pope to Ambassadors: Protect Religious Dimension of Man

Pope Benedict XVI today made a forceful appeal to world governments to uphold and strengthen religious freedom around the world, making a particular reference to recent atrocities against Christians. In his traditional new year survey of world affairs, addressed to diplomats accredited to the Holy See, the Pope referred to the “numerous situations in which, sadly, the right to religious freedom is violated or denied.”
