Pope’s Peace Message Denounces "Indifference" to Tragedy of Slavery

In the Pope’s annual message for the World Day of Peace on Jan. 1, titled “No Longer Slaves. But Brothers and Sisters,” Francis confronted slavery and said “Do not be complicit, indifferent to tragedy of exploitation.” The Pope’s six-page message is sent to heads of state, governments, international institutions, and religious leaders.
